Progress

One big thing I forgot to mention last log was that Twisted League reminded me that Shade Robes are a thing. Since there are Shades in the bottom level of the Stronghold of Security, I have access to a really easy to get set of Prayer gear which will make Slayer and Wilderness content much easier. This increases my Prayer Gear bonus from 11 to 20 (23 if I use a Mace) which is pretty handy.

As for this period, I knocked out 59 Construction as discussed in the previous progress log, which let me boost to 61 and build Incense Burners, giving me a slightly more pleasant way to use any Big Bones I get. Since Bolts of Cloth are only available from Sawmill Operators (I understand why it was that way initially, but there should really be other stores that sell cloth since it really doesn’t make sense), I can only construct an altar that gives me 200% experience. This means I’ll never want to use any other bone on the altar since I have access to the Chaos Altar.

The stock of Big Bones I had got me to 60 Prayer, which is another level of Prayer Potion restoration, giving me +22 Prayer Points per dose.

Been working on Slayer and managed to keep a nice streak of unrestricted tasks for a moment, from which I got 74 Slayer and 86 Range. During this streak, I got a Basilisk task, which I decided to try my luck at getting a Basilisk Jaw from Basilisk Knights.

Unfortunately, my stock of ruby/diamond bolts and bolt tips ran out while doing this task (Mostly the diamond ones) so I decided that it’d be a good idea to get more, which involved mining.

Since Mining is such a high octane skill, I had some time to think. I was already working on one of the three skills I had remaining for the Fremennik Hard Diary, might as well bite the bullet and get it over with.

So, since I was mining already, I worked on finishing that task. I got 69 Crafting from the gems I cut, and eventually got 69 Mining, allowing me to use a Dwarven Stout (or five) to boost to 70 Mining and complete the task of mining 5 Adamantite Ore on Jatiszo.

For a short break from mining, I checked Kingdom and hit 63 Herblore with some of the spoils.

Since I still didn’t want to train Thieving, I moved on to the Herblore requirement.

Not having the desire to kill over 1,000 unicorns or hop a billion worlds to buy chocolate, I settled on hunting Sabre-toothed Kebbits and making Hunter Potions.

I brought the tools to hunt the Kebbits as well as 22 unfinished Avantoe potions and a Mortar and Pestle, made Hunter Potions as I caught Kebbits. When I could, I combined the potions into 4 doses while ditching any empty vials to save space. When the potions were finished, I then filled the rest of my inventory with Kebbit Teeth Dust.

I got around 30 potions out of each trip, though I don’t know if it was better than just filling up on Kebbit Teeth. It gave me something to do during the waiting period between each deadfall so I was fine with it. Maybe one day if I get super bored I’ll time it but for now it’s aight.

While I didn’t quite get another Hunter level, the quest for Herblore materials did put me close to 81, which is another benefit of taking that route. It knocked about 500 Black Salamanders off my goal to 86 Hunter.

After quite a few sessions of Barbarian dentistry, I hit 65 Herblore, and with a Greenman’s Ale, I boosted to 66 and made the Super Defence Potion in Rellekka, checking that off the list of the Fremennik Hard Diary.

Afterwards, I boosted to 66 for a bit and used up a bunch of the stored materials for Super Defence Potions and hit 66 Herblore.

Luckily I had to watch my dog for the weekend and she doesn’t like to behave in my room so I hung out with her elsewhere in the house and slogged through the levels on my tablet. I did stop before 75 and got it on my PC, so I could get Runelite to take a screenshot for me.

With that done, I went to Keldagrim to steal from the Gem Stall there to finish the final task in the Fremennik Hard Diary. I’ll look into the usefulness of hopping around and stealing from these stalls later.

I went to Thorodin to claim my rewards, used the lamp in Herblore as you do, and set out to use the newly unlocked Tan Leather spell on some stored Green Dragonhides I had. I then turned the dragon leather into a few Green Dragonhide Shields (To upgrade from my Hard Leather Shield) and a bunch of Green Dragonhide Bodies.

Now that I can tan leather, I can make my own Dragonhide Armor and eventually upgrade my ranged gear.

However, I only have easy access to Green Dragonhide (Green Dragons in the Wilderness, Brutal Green Dragons in the Ancient Cavern) and Black Dragonhide (Black Dragons and the King Black Dragon in the Wilderness), so my methods of training crafting aren’t all that expanded.

Barbarian Assault has Blue and Red dragonhide in its reward lists, so I will be running that very soon, in hopes that I can at least make slightly better ranged gear. My current ranged armor consists of a Glory, Green Dragonhide body, (Spined = Green Dragonhide), Blue Dragonhide chaps, Red Dragonhide vambraces, the new Green Dragonhide Shield, and an Archer Helm. Power Rangers, combine!

Another thing I did was spend some time farming Avianses for the Adamant Bar drops and money, to get some Smithing experience and replenish my Adamant Bolt stock later.

One of the things I was thinking about in my quest of things to AFK was Waterfiends in the Ancient Cavern. I learned from a similar snowflake how to do it and it’ll be a nice source of Range experience and decent loot. During a trip, I hit 87 Hitpoints and 87 Ranged (The inflated cash stack was from me alching the Green Dragonhide Bodies from before while I was waiting for the aggression timer).

Goals:

For now, I’ll mostly be doing Slayer and working on earning some more cash to hit 65 Construction (To boost to 67) so I can create the Lecturn that’ll allow me to make Teleport to House tabs, unlocking another (and fast! Lyres drop you near the house portal but the animation is pretty slow) one-click teleport and another AFK training method.

EDIT: Turns out I lost my one-click teleport when I unlocked the Waterbirth Teleport on the Lyre so I really need to get that Construction grind funded soon.

I’ll probably need to buy more Broad Bolts during this process which will set me back a bit.

Once that grind is over, I’m going to start saving up for Edgeville Respawn (5 million coins) which will give me a level 30 Wilderness escape (Amulet of Glory to Edgeville) and quicker access to Edgeville in general (Amulet of Glory, Mounted Glory, Ring of Returning) and I can buy Broad Bolts in an easier way than my current method of trekking from the Corp Cave to Edgeville with money (which is super stressful by the way).

I’ll probably give solo DKs another shot soon too.

That’s all for now!

These were my stats at the time of this post
