Preface

The Exceptions page has been updated tentatively to reflect the requirements of The Fremennik Exiles.

I do plan on completing the quest but there are a lot of exceptions
to make and changes due to them to do so that I’m still working on,
reflecting upon, and clarifying.

I’ve also updated the Skilling Thoughts, Processes, and Rewards page to my current stats and goals, and named it to better fit in the previously established folder setup.

I’ve also been extremely busy IRL so I haven’t had much time to do things, though that’s been good for all the thinking I’ve had to do.

I hit 25 Farming, but now I’m out of seeds that I can plant. I haven’t been able to do much stuff in the Wilderness lately so that’s been a low priority.

For future accounts like this, non-uims can put kingdom workers into Farming to get bush seeds, if you go the route of full Fremennik content unlocking.

I spent a lot of time killing Kurasks and have made a bunch of cash. In doing so I also got 80 Ranged, 82 Hitpoints, and more importantly, 53 Herblore.

I can now make Hunter Potions without boosting, and clean Kwuarms with boosts.

Since I’ve been able to make Hunter Potions, I did some work on Hunter and hit 76. With my rates of 90k-100k/hr I have 6-8 hours left of Black Salamander Hunting (I need to catch 2,032) before 80. When I can devote more uninterrupted time to that I will get that done, I hope.

55 Runecrafting was listed as a requirement and, while I don’t really have anything against the skill, I knew it would be awful to train as I don’t have energy potions and also an easy source of large quantities of Essence. I decided to test my luck with Wildy Slayer Keys and managed to get a drop of 6,096 Pure Essence, roughly half of what was required to go from 44-55 (12,758). While on the task I also got 2 Mysterious Emblems, inching me closer to the Rune Pouch, which I should really push harder to get before the proposed Bounty Hunter changes go through.

Not only did that cut a significant amount of Essence mining out, it was enough Essence to get me to 50 Runecrafting, unlocking the Large Essence Pouch, further enhancing the journey ahead.

I’ve also been using the Papayas from Kurask drops to restore energy (and heal, as the Suqah hurt) so more reasons to farm Kurasks.

At this point in the log period, I was hammered by work and real life so I had very little time to get anything done. Luckily I was able to get the aforementioned 50 Runecrafting done on my tablet (which is pretty hellish and clunky mind you) and begin work on mining the last mountain of Essence. I had also done some minor prep for other tasks, Humidifying the Clay I had previously collected and Spinning some Flax. It was during this time that I had really begun preparation/research for what will be necessary in order to do Fremennik Exiles.

Regardless of if the quest passes, 55 Runecrafting will be worth getting as I’ll need a bunch of Astral Runes for various training methods anyway, and not having to buy them is a plus.

The most work will really be figuring out how to handle the Heroes’ Quest requirement. I have 27 of the 55 quest points required for the quest, and I’ve already done every quest possible in the regions I have available. Therefore, there will have to be exceptions made in order to obtain the rest of the points. Heroes’ Quest has 3 quests in its own requirements that I haven’t done yet, and those will give me 9 points, putting me at 36 and leaving 19 to go.

My thoughts for the remaining quests lean towards those involved in the Fremennik Diaries, as well as My Arm’s Big Adventure. Since I planned on completing the diaries and My Arm’s Big Adventure eventually, this would minimize the amount of exceptions and seems like the best course of action.

However, even with the minimum amount of things completed for the diaries, I would still be 4 points short. This could be easily solved by going ahead and completing the two quests that only need partial completion (Between a Rock… and Fairy Tale Part 2).

Though if I do so I’ll use the Herb Patch from My Arm’s Big Adventure earlier than originally planned, as the Farming requirement for Fairy Tale Part 2 is pretty hellish to achieve given the limited access to training that I have (And even though this is meant to be somewhat challenging, I’m also doing it for fun. I also believe that similar accounts have gone for My Arm’s Big Adventure earlier than I have).

One majorly troublesome quest is Priest in Peril (A requirement for Fairy Tale Part 1, which is then a requirement for Fairy Tale Part 2). This quest unlocks the Slayer Tower slayer creatures as available tasks. This increases the number of tasks I’ll have to skip (turns out my previous Slayer calculations were incorrect since I would never have gotten any of those creatures before) and also increases the number of out-of-region tasks that Tureal Skipping would land.

This is mostly just an annoyance given my established Slayer rules and access to Wilderness Slayer for points, but would pose a problem to those much more restricted than I.

Here’s the complete list of tentative quests.

This is all subject to nullification if the quest doesn’t pass, however, so we’ll see in the next few weeks.

While discussing other things with similar restricted accounts, I learned that I was doing Waterfiends wrong, so there may be more kills of those in the future. I also learned of a way to take down Mithril Dragons via poison and flinching, so maybe there’ll be a few kills of those too.

While writing this I hit 77 Magic, and now I now longer need to boost for Superglass Make.

These were my stats at the time of this post

Goals:

Determine the quest path for the Fremennik Exiles, if it passes

Get the skill levels for it regardless
