Preface

There’s actually not that much in these logs compared to the previous
ones, as progress is understandably slowing down as many major goals
have already been reached, higher levels are required for the next
goals, and I’m prepping for the start of bossing.

Progress

I said I’d finally get 80 cooking and I didn’t shark my duties in that promise.

Many lobsters were harmed in the making of that screenshot.

I decided to start working towards a Rune Crossbow. First, the less dangerous way of killing Avianses in the God Wars Dungeon for the Rune Limbs. To make this easier in two ways, I set about geting 70 Ranged at Ankou. This helped my supply of runes for Magic Training later, as well as my Skull Sceptre charges via the Left Skull halves.

With 70 Ranged, I can enter the Armadyl portion of the God Wars Dungeon. Since my supply of God items is currently extremely limited, this allows me to stay safe with only a Zamorak (Mage Arena cape) and an Armadyl (Damaged Book of Law) item equipped. Also, having a higher Ranged makes them easier to kill given how you need to range or mage them.

I previously unlocked the ability to be assigned Avianse tasks and
have done a few, banking almost every Adamant bar I got for the future.

I started off with some Slayer and general Magic training, hitting 71 Magic which allows me to cast Hunter Kit without boosting, speeding up the collection of Impling Jars immensely. (I also learned you can bank the kits and recast the spell rather than open and drop a hunter item and recast, which was another speed boost). I burned all my Chaos runes using Crumble Undead at Ankou for more Death and Blood rune collecting and Magic training.

I figured that it was also high time I started getting ready for bossing and that the Dagannoth Kings would be my first target. To take them on alone, however, I would need Rune Thrownaxes, which I would need to loot from Ninja Implings. For that, I would obviously need to train Hunter some more, so I slogged through to 67 Hunter, unlocking Black Salamanders, and then, comparatively, breezed along to 74 Hunter.

In the middle of the Hunter grind, I noticed I was close to 80 Strength so I quickly knocked that out.

With the ability to catch Ninja Implings, I set out to try to find the sneaky things, unfortunately not having much luck (and seeing a Lucky Impling and a few Dragon Implings along the way).

I did, however, finally obtain Blue Dragonhide Chaps from an Eclectic Impling, which is a nice consolation prize, however small an upgrade they are to Yants™. Several attempts have been made with no luck in regards to the Rune Thrownaxes, although I’ve replaced my Dragon Dagger (p) with a Dragon Dagger (p+).

As I have a Rune Crossbow on the mind, I decided that Broad Bolts would be a very useful thing to have. Since the only Slayer Master that awards consistent points for me is Krystilia, I did 10 Wilderness Slayer tasks to get the points to unlock them. Via those tasks I got a few Mysterious Emblems, which I put towards my goal of a Rune Pouch in the Bounty Hunter Store.

I hit 65 Slayer during this, which means I could boost to Kurasks if I really wanted to, though it’s probably better to wait a few more levels so the window for killing them is open longer.

With Broad Bolts unlocked, I’m committing more time towards the Fletching grind so I can use them. I purchased the ores for 1000 Mithril Bars via the Blast Furnace, used up all my Iron Ore to hit 60 Smithing in order to benefit from the free use.

While I was cutting Willows for arrow shafts last night, I got a Beginner Clue nest.

There’s only one Beginner Clue step I can do but I check them all anyway.

It’s possible to complete some Beginner Clues in one step.

You can probably tell where I’m going with this.

I am currently making the headless arrows for the Iron Arrowtips I smithed and the Mithril Arrowtips I will be smithing, while cutting the Yew tree behind Otto’s house to prepare to fletch some Yew Shortbows as I write this.

These were my stats at the time of this post

My goals from here on are:
Rune Thrownaxes so I can start learning Dagannoth Kings
70 Slayer for Kurasks for their drops
69 Fletching for Rune Crossbows, but I might as well hit 70 for Yew Longbows
52/53 Herblore for the boosting/normal mixing of Hunter Potions so I can cut down the Hunter grind
80 Hunter to boost for Dragon Imps, 83 to catch them normally
86 Hunter to boost for Lucky Imps, 89 to catch them normally (will most likely just stay 86 for a long time)
74/77 Magic for boosting/normal casting Superglass Make
83/86 Magic for boosting/normal casting Plank Make
1,200,000 Bounty Hunter Points for a Rune Pouch (460,000 currently)
