Progress Log #5: Weeks 10 & 11; June 14 2019

Preface

These logs are going to be even shorter due to me playing Path of Exile: Legion, but I still managed to get a few things done.

I have learned that the Abyssal Sire boss fight is in fact not accessed through the Slayer Tower like I thought, but instead through the Abyss. There are two access points to this boss, one via the Abyssal Runecrafting section, and the other being the Fairy Ring Abyss location.

As I have access to the Abyssal Runecrafting section, I can tackle them and have thus added that boss to my list of goals.

Progress

I still haven’t had luck with Ninja Implings, so I’m probably going to get some people together so I can be escorted into the Dagannoth Kings’ boss room, learn from them, and farm Supreme for the axes instead.

Of the goals I set in the last post, I decided to get to 70 Fletching for Yew Longbows (And the Rune Crossbow, of course).

The majority of my experience came from Mithril Arrowheads, which had the side effect getting my Smithing level to 62. I also now have a decent stack of decently strong arrows to AFK train Ranged with if I don’t want to go through the trouble of making more Broad Bolts (I’m not quite a fan of trekking through the Wilderness with a stack of cash on me, for some reason).

After hitting 70 Fletching I went on an Avianse murdering spree for Rune Limbs. Ironman luck was not on my side so I had to kill quite a few of them. I gave up on filling my inventory with Adamant Bars as they dropped, because I wasn’t spending that much time killing Avianses due to them. This is a bit out of order of events, but due to slayer and Rune Limbs hunting, I have 700 Adamant Bars banked for the future, waiting to be turned into bolts.

I did eventually get the limbs, and as luck likes to do, I also got 5 more in a few Avianse tasks, for a total of 6 Rune Crossbows at this time.

Some time ago, I whipped up a spreadsheet for my available Slayer Masters

(Duradel too, even though I can’t quite use him yet at 92 combat).

Super Bad tasks are out of region tasks. Bad tasks are Wilderness only tasks (which I’d prefer to only have to do when actually doing Wilderness Slayer).

Good tasks are tasks that I’d prefer to do and also within my regions.

Doable tasks are all the tasks I can do within my regions (Bad + Good together)

I found that, with my understanding of the wiki’s explanation of task weights and available information on them, Nieve actually has a better chance of giving me doable/desirable tasks (Unless I’m in the mood for hunting Superior creatures, which Chaeldar is better). Points wise, Krystilia is still the queen, but for experience and relative safety, I’ve dropped Chaeldar and switched to Nieve. Now I only have 4 tasks completely out of my area (Aberrant Specters, Kalphites, Mutated Zygomites, and Wyrms) and only 1 task that Tureal won’t switch (Kalphites).

After some Slayer to hit 67, I decided to go for a slight change of pace, and use the two Wild Pies I had banked at the time to kill a few Kurasks. I only managed to get 10 down in the short time I had to kill them, but on the second kill I got a Light Mystic Robe Top. Unfortunately my Runelite settings reset due to something I did so I don’t have the juicy floor drop screenshot.

After that burst of motivation to continue slayer, I got 68, and went to kill Spiritual Warriors for a Rune Halberd. This isn’t all that important a drop but it opens up slightly safer (if much, much slower) and higher level AFK melee combat.

At this point, I was getting ready for/playing Path of Exile (and working) so my active playtime diminished. I tried to cut the Yew tree by Otto’s place but it wasn’t quite AFK enough, so I settled on stocking up on Sharks to cook for later as it never hurts to have a good supply of food.

While I was fishing on the docks of Jatiszo, I made a little friend.

These were my stats at the time of this post

Immediate goals remaining:

Rune Thrownaxes so I can start learning Dagannoth Kings
70 Slayer for Kurasks for their drops
52/53 Herblore for the boosting/normal mixing of Hunter Potions so I can cut down the Hunter grind
80 Hunter to boost for Dragon Imps, 83 to catch them normally
86 Hunter to boost for Lucky Imps, 89 to catch them normally (will most likely just stay 86 for a long time)
77 Magic for normal casting Superglass Make
83/86 Magic for boosting/normal casting Plank Make
1,200,000 Bounty Hunter Points for a Rune Pouch (460,000 currently)

End

I played a lot of Path of Exile this period so the gains were small.
