Preface

I thought Krystilia was where you turned the Mysterious Emblems in when I made my exceptions. Clearly I didn’t do enough research on the Wilderness portion of my realm but after watching Statistically Challenged’s series I learned that the emblem trader is a separate entity and had included them in my exceptions list as I intended to be able to use their services.

Note: Mysterious Emblems are no longer obtainable and the path a new character following my restrictions would take will be different.

A mysterious emblem was an item that could be traded in to the Emblem Trader for bounties, which can be used to purchase items from the Bounty Hunter Store. It can be obtained in several ways:

  • Killing the player’s assigned target on the official Bounty Hunter world, while having a mysterious emblem in the inventory. The opponent’s combat level determines the drop rate.
  • Killing Wilderness bosses on the official Bounty Hunter world.
  • Killing various monsters assigned by Krystilia. Bosses and monsters assigned by her can drop the emblems outside of Bounty Hunter worlds.

A New Name

I’m going to list this change out of order of occurrence because I feel it’s pretty important:

I’ve changed my character’s name to Rellekkian, from IMFremmyOnly, to avoid being totally misleading with regards to the areas I can access, as I’m not a completely Fremennik locked account.

Progress

After completing the Fremennik Trials and unlocking the majority of the Fremennik regions, I had many options to choose from when deciding where to go next.

I decided to complete Olaf’s Quest for the money reward as well as the runes that the Skeleton Fremenniks drop, which will be useful in training magic until I can access the Mage Arena.

After some skeleton bashing I felt prepared enough to seek out the last two pieces of the Skull Sceptrefrom the Catablepon and Ankou in the Stronghold of Security to make future trips faster and remove trips through irrelevant areas.

I then went to work on the Construction requirement for The Fremennik Isles, and decided that if I was going to spend time hopping worlds for planks at Barbarian Outpost, I might as well get the requirement for moving my house to Rellekka knocked out as well.

I initially wanted to go with making Exit Portals but that was a waste of Law runes.

Onward to the other requirements for The Fremennik Isles: I got 56 Woodcutting. I had initially planned to chop the Maple by the Lighthouse bridge but I didn’t feel like hopping worlds every time it fell and I also wanted to bank the Fletched items to sell for a boost of cash. I had gotten an Adamant axe from Ice Troll Runts previously which helped a bit over the Iron axe I was using before.Onward to the other requirements for The Fremennik Isles: I got 56 Woodcutting.

For 46 Crafting I did a mix of competing with the bots at the Jatiszo Ore store for Gold ore and Yak-Hide Armour (legs) once I hit 43 (Yants, by Rellekkian™ coming to a general store north of you).

The Agility requirement was already reached when I was Barbarian fishing to reach 76 Fishing.

I had actually completed most of the quest by the time I had reached the Crafting level for it as I wanted to craft Yak-Hide armour (legs) to train to 46, but with that requirement done, I went into the Ice Troll Caves.

I felt like I only had one shot, for a long while, at the King. After I used the potions from the quest, I had no real way to restore Prayer outside of dying or finishing/abandoning a game of Barbarian Assault. I had no altars until the Wilderness was unlocked and I couldn’t easily train Herblore to make my own Prayer Potions until then as well, since I would need to do some Wilderness Slayer to gain Slayer levels to unlock Cave Crawlers, one of my best methods of training Herblore for a long time.

Luckily my fears were unfounded and I ended up completing the quest in two trips, one to kill the Trolls required to face the King and then another with a fully stocked inventory + the Prayer Potions from the quest. The Fremennik Isles was completed.

Afterwards I quickly completed The Lost City

With the high from overcoming the Ice Troll King’s challenge, I decided to take on the Agility grind that would unlock the Wilderness. Something around 2.5k laps of the Barbarian Agility course (and one re-watch of Mongolian Chop Squad) later, and 64 Agility was mine. I also got 3 Slayer levels from XP Randoms.

Since 64 Agility was the biggest challenge standing between me and the Wilderness, I quickly went to complete Death Plateau and Troll Stronghold. I had decided to change my name at the time I was doing Death Plateau, as well.

Now that I could use the Trollheim Wilderness Shortcut, the Wilderness was mine to whimper and scurry about.

I made it my first priority to run to Krystilia and complete some Slayer. Upon reaching 10 and unlocking Cave Crawlers I started working on the Herblore level for the coveted Prayer Potions. I alternated between that, more Slayer, Crafting, and training Magic, though Magic was focused on heavily after Crafting.

I trained Crafting by heavily focusing on making Yants™. This method of training was pretty fast for the options that I had and didn’t involve competing with bots for gold ore. I would buy Yak Hides from Vanligga Gastfrihet’s Contraband yak produce store and make Thakkrad Sigmundson tan them. I started by buying both the tanned and untanned hides but eventually switched to the untanned hides as they were much cheaper and it was easier to focus on the larger stock.

I made around 6 thousand Yants™ to reach 61 Crafting for Lunar Diplomacy, look for them on the clothing racks of a Goodwill near you.

Somewhere along my crafting grind I hit 5 million total experience. I forgot to capture the exact time for 1,000 total, too.

I reached 35 Slayer from the slaying I’ve done and due to the creatures I’ve unlocked, I’ve obtained Light Mystic Gloves (Rockslugs), Light Mystic Boots (Cockatrices), and a Staff of Fire (Pyrefiends)

Thanks to the Mysterious Emblems I’d gotten, I’ve purchased a Dragon Longsword and a Dragon Dagger, which I’ve poisoned with a Weapon Poison from Ankou.

While working towards Prayer Potions, I achieved 70 Strength.

Once I hit 37 Herblore I used my buddy Jossik’s Greenman’s ale to boost up to 38 and made Prayer Potions (With Snape Grass gathered from drops and Waterbirth Island) to actually reach 38 Herblore.

I am still working on the 65 Magic requirement for Lunar Diplomacy (currently at 60), as well as 43 Prayer (Sitting at 40) for Protect from Melee (Mountain Daughter will help with this with its 2k Prayer experience reward).

I am also slowly working on last log’s goal of 80 Cooking, with 65 being my latest level on the journey to Sharks.

With some of the money I made selling little over half of my stock of Yants™ I purchased an Archer Helm and a Farseer Helm to supplement my Ranged and Magic training.

These were my stats at the time of this post

I knocked out most of my goals from the last log and made some progress towards 80 Cooking. Lunar Diplomacy is my main focus this time around, I need 9 more Firemaking, 5 more Magic, and 18 more Mining levels.

End

I learned a few things about the Wilderness and its facilities (As noted at the start, I didn’t know the Emblem Trader and Krystilia were two separate things), but I’m still not fond of it. One of these days I’ll remember I need a knife for the Mage Arena bank more than half the time I head there.

I hope you enjoyed any part of this.

It has been some time since I visited the transposing project, but it is a project I still intend to continue. There may be inconsistencies in the style between this and the first post due to mindsets and loss of scope/ideas but it is what it is.
