The Beginning
I started the account under the name IMFremmyOnly, which I noted even in the first log that the whole territory of the account rendered that name misleading. I initially progressed for 2 weeks before creating the first progress log, to give me plenty of time to generate content/material to talk about.
Even from the onset I had warned about my disinclination to produce YouTube videos.
Rules/Regions/Reasons
Regular Ironman restrictions apply.
For those unaware of what those are, I will link to the OSRS wiki page here.
The initial regions the account had access to (and specific restrictions to some) were as follows:
The Fremennik Province, Keldagrim, Waterbirth Island, the Fremennik Isles, Miscellania and Etceteria, Pirate’s Cove and Lunar Isle, Troll Country, God Wars Dungeon, Barbarian Village
(After completion of Troll Stronghold and 64 agility) The Wilderness, The Abyss, Edgeville Jail (Krystilia), and wherever the Edgeville Respawn puts you (When unlocked), but no other Edgeville facilities.
Any dungeon whose entrance is located in these areas is allowed, unless it is locked behind extraneous requirements (Vorkath, for instance), except for the non-wilderness portion of the Edgeville Dungeon.
Since the inception of this account, Ferox Enclave and the Isle of Souls have been added to the game. The Isle of Souls is accessible via a portal in the dungeon under Ferox Enclave, as well as a portal adjacent to the Edgeville Dungeon hut. As such, I have considered it within my regions and utilize it accordingly. I have also added the Edgeville Dungeon Hut to the region as it houses the Wilderness Lever, Edgeville Respawn, and Death’s Office, though I do not use the Yew Trees there.
Even more additionally, with the release of Varlemore, there are Fremenniks found in the Fortis Colosseum and the Sunset Coast, which gives me reason enough to include those areas in my domain.
You can really tell I was fleshing out what and how I wanted to do things in the next few chunks of text. It’s actually quite silly looking back at it.
I tried to play at being an Ultimate Ironman until I completed Fremennik Trials, for some reason, by trying to not use a bank until the quest was complete. I also said I would not do Throne of Miscellania and Royal Trouble because the content did not meet some arbitrary threshold of worth in regards to the exceptions I would have had to make in order to unlock it.
At the time of my starting the account, Fremennik Exiles did not exist, which requires Heroes’ Quest to do, and Heroes’ Quest is a requirement for Throne of Miscellania. I also spoke about not doing Dragon Slayer for an Anti-Dragon shield/Antifire potions (those are locked behind the quest as an anti-botting measure, which I would now consider making an exception with similar things for) for the same reason, and Dragon Slayer is a requirement for Heroes’ Quest.
I spoke about the lore of including Barbarian Village in my regions. A member of the village, Hunding, tells you the history of the village and how the inhabitants are descendants of people who come from the mountain tribe that the citizens of Rellekka also descend from.

Exceptions
I was only allowed to access these areas in order to complete these quests/tasks but can only access areas they unlock if they are noted above:
Druidic Ritual, Rune Mysteries, Enter the Abyss miniquest (Access to the Zamorak Mage is locked once I hit 43 magic until I unlock the Wilderness fully),
The first of many odd fumbling around exceptions
Alfred Grimhand’s Barcrawl, Jungle Potion, Shilo Village, Death Plateau, Troll Stronghold, Eadgar’s Ruse.
During Alfred Grimhand’s Barcrawl I picked up the following items to condense exceptions into as few trips as possible: Pineapple Chunks, Swamp Tar, 1 Air rune, 1 Earth rune, a House, and a Saw.
For Lunar Diplomacy I needed to go to Rimmington to fill a Bullseye Lantern.
In order to make bows I pillaged the Western Varrock Mine and the Edgeville Well to make clay products in the Barbarian Village pottery shed until 10 crafting.
I made this decision misguidedly, I had originally locked Keldagrim behind an absurdly silly and arbitrary requirement of 100 Drunken Dwarf random events. Had I not done that, I would have just bought a bow in Keldagrim.
Quests
At the time, the quests and miniquests this account was going to be doing are:
Druidic Ritual, Rune Mysteries, Enter the Abyss, Alfred Grimhand’s Barcrawl, Horror from the Deep, The Fremennik Trials, Mountain Daughter, The Fremennik Isles, Olaf’s Quest, Lost City, Jungle Potion, Shilo Village, Lunar Diplomacy, Troll Stronghold, Eadgar’s Ruse, and Dream Mentor.
The full list of quests this account has done/will do has significantly increased, especially with the release of The Fremennik Exiles and Secrets of the North. I also had not determined, at the time of posting this, if I will be doing Dragon Slayer 2. And, as I have not yet met the requirements for that, progression wise, I haven’t finalized the list of quests needed. I have also decided upon allowing for the completion the quests involved in the tasks for the Fremennik and Wilderness Diaries. For brevity’s sake, this revised list can be found by expanding the text below

Goals
Horror from the Deep will allow me to do Fremennik Trials.
The Fremennik Trials will unlock the majority of the regions I can visit.
Lunar Diplomacy will unlock normal Slayer and enhance my skilling.
Troll Stronghold (And 64 Agility) will unlock the Wilderness (And Wilderness Slayer) and God Wars.
Dream Mentor will unlock Hunter and enhance my skilling.
My overall goals for this account are to have fun, get all the Fremennik Armor pieces, complete a Skull Sceptre, obtain all the Barbarian Assault rewards, get all the unique items from the Dagannoth Kings, God Wars bosses, and Wilderness bosses, complete Mage Arena I and II, change my respawn to Edgeville, complete all the quests mentioned previously, Max, possibly complete the Fremennik and Wilderness Diaries, and possibly complete all the God Books.
No promises though.
This section was copied straight from the original post. I don’t have much to change about it, just some comments to add. I think, aside from the God Books, my goals were grounded and simple. Definitely have not strayed too far from that path at least. I did not know at the time that, with my designs the way they were, the Wilderness diaries were locked to Hard because of Desert Treasure.
Progress
This is the meat of all my posts, everything put into action and the results from said planning and action, in the time spent on them. I will likely copy-paste from the original logs as there shouldn’t be too much to change, given they’re results rather than speculation.
I begin by prepping the account, dropping all but the two starter items (A bucket to make molten glass with, and a small fishing net to fish with).

Here’s me, after being an idiot and not being able to find the Seaweed on Entrana to make Molten Glass with, pickpocketing to make money to buy Soda Ash from the Charter Ship, and the Molten Glass that I made.

One Small Favour Harpoon
At the beginning of this journey, I had the dumb idea to lock Keldagrim behind a few quests, but I eventually realized that the anvil in Barbarian Village was a Barbarian Anvil. This means I would have had no anvil to train Smithing on and I will admit I did not have the drive to subject myself to gathering ~1814 Nature runes and ~7256 Fire runes to Superheat Bronze and Iron bars to 34 Smithing. Nor was I about to make an exception for Tai Bwo Wannai Trio in order to unlock Spear/Hastae Smithing as it requires a lot of irrelevant content. Because Keldagrim was locked for a while, I did not have access to a few things such as a shop for an easy Tinderbox or a place to sell things for sweet sweet gp.
I did not allow myself Steel Nails, a Harpoon, or a Shark anywhere in my exceptions. This means I needed to get 76 Fishing and also complete Horror from the Deep, slay Dagannoths in the Lighthouse dungeon until they dropped a Harpoon, and then fish a Shark for use in the completion of The Fremennik Trials. This led me to having to get 34 Smithing in order to make the nails needed to complete Horror from the Deep. Prior to The Fremennik Trials, there were no furnaces in my allowed regions, so I needed to get 43 magic in order to Superheat bars that I can smith in anvils in Keldagrim.
Note that I could have also gotten 96 Fishing and 76 Strength to barbarian fish the shark, or even figured out how to kill Waterfiends with what limited supplies and gear I had, which would definitely have made for a different interesting story.
The first big thing I tackled was gaining a few HP levels in order to survive failing the initial leap to the Lighthouse/Barbarian Outpost Basalt Rocks. Many, many, many chickens were slain during the making of this progress log. I tried flinching some of the Fremennik townsfolk for a tinderbox to train cooking and firemaking with (I completely forgot about the fire by Olaf) and had no luck. I trained fishing from 1-48 by fishing Shrimp and Anchovies on the Rellekka Docks. Unfortunately I do not have screenshots of 10-15 agility since I got them on mobile, but I trained from 1 to 15 by jumping across the center Basalt rocks between Barbarian Outpost and The Lighthouse.

Once I unlocked Barbarian Fishing (And got 49 Fishing for some reason?) I headed to Otto’s Grotto to start fishing. I alternated between a few tasks at this time, flinching Fremennik townsfolk for a tinderbox, flinching Mountain Trolls for equipment upgrades, killing Chickens for XP and Feathers, and Cooking. Initially I trained cooking with Shrimp and Anchovies at Almera’s house at the Baxtorian Falls. I finally got a Tinderbox after 20 cooking. I eventually did Barbarian Firemaking Training so I could save inventory space by using a bow to make fires and train range with. (I could make bows by picking Flax outside Rellekka and spinning them into Bowstring, since I made that mistaken exception earlier).

Before I hit 70 fishing I thought it best to unlock the ability to cook Swordfish so that, when I went fishing for food, I could cook everything I could barehand fish, and to have better food in general. During the grind to 76 Fishing I hit 35 Agility which was a requirement for Horror from the Deep.

Here’s 70 Fishing, the requirement to barehand fish Swordfish.

From all the Barbarian Fishing, Troll punching, Fremennik murdering, and Chicken slaying, I hit 55 Strength, though the Runelite screenshot was messed up by a private message I was sending.
Eventually, I got 76 Fishing, which allows me to catch Sharks, and I need one Raw Shark to complete The Fremennik Trials.

As I was nearing 76 Fishing I started to think about what I needed to work on next and how I was going to work on it, which is when I came to the realization that I couldn’t lock Keldagrim behind anything else because I valued my sanity a bit more than that and I couldn’t justify any other exceptions. The thought of grinding Smithing in the Wilderness did cross my mind but I was too chickenshit for it so I passed on that as well.
I also couldn’t get to the wilderness with how I had locked it behind the agility shortcut unless I made an exception like I did in the upcoming text.
What I settled on was grinding Flesh Crawlers for their Nature rune, Fire rune, and noted Iron Ore drops. In order to get from 1 Smithing to 34 Smithing using Superheat Item and an anvil, I would need 43 Magic, 600 or so Nature runes, and 2.4k or so Fire runes. Flesh Crawlers drop 5 Nature runes at an uncommon rate and 42 Fire runes at a common rate. I would be there for a while.
One interesting thing that I used to do was include wiki links to new things mentioned in the log, as a sort of way to help unfamiliar people follow along. I’d like to back-port that as I re-write/transcribe things.
On my way to Barbarian Village, I did Druidic Ritual and Rune Mysteries.

In order to actually train Magic, I would need runes. This is where one of my exceptions kicks in, though. I know this will still probably be looked down upon. I did the Enter the Abyss Miniquest and made a one time purchase of 1500 Air and 1500 Mind runes from the Zamorak Mage in the Wilderness. I would make trips to him occasionally to purchase Water and Earth runes as well, for Cursing with the Body runes Flesh Crawlers also dropped.
From the occasional AFKing at Rock Crabs and the Flesh Crawler grind, I hit 50 Attack, 62 Strength, and 47 Defence. I also got from 4-10 Herblore by cleaning Guams and Marrentills that the Flesh Crawlers dropped, though most of those levels were on mobile.

This is the big crafting training mistake, and also me hitting 5 Mining from it.

As I neared the required Nature rune amount, I went ahead and got 43 Magic by Cursing a lot of Barbarians. With 43 Magic attained, the Zamorak Mage is locked until I complete the requirements to unlock the Wilderness, and all extra runes purchased for training were dropped.

With Superheat Item unlocked, I started the Mining grind to be able to mine Iron and Coal (the more important resource here, as I had gotten quite a few noted Iron Ore drops from the Flesh Crawlers.
15 Mining achieved. I would be Superheating these ores as I mined them and also as I walked to an anvil to save time and have as many bars in my inventory as I could, because I am all about that efficiency.

15 Smithing. In one of my last trips for this level I was about 6-7 XP away from 15 Smithing, and rather than waste a Nature rune on Superheating a Bronze Bar (which would put me to 15), I decided to put the Bronze Throwing Knives I made to use and beat up some Dwarves.

I got 30 Smithing on mobile but here’s 31 Smithing. My method for making Steel started with getting a full inventory of Coal, unnoting the Iron Ore at the bank, Superheating the bars and Smithing them, and then I switched to mining a full inventory of Iron ore, making room for enough coal, and Superheating a bar until my inventory was full.

This got me 34 Smithing and the 4 Steel Bars I needed to make 60 Steel Nails with not a Nature rune to spare. Imagine being excited to be able to craft nails. While Smithing, I made a decent amount of money selling the products to the stores in the area. I also got a nice Maze random that supplied me with a good amount of Chaos runes.

In retrospect, I should have just banked, especially since I used the bank to un-note things haha. I could also have used the Blast Furnace, especially to buy ores, and I could also have boosted smithing and mining with a Dwarven Stout from the pubs. But what’s done is done and it makes for a funny story.
With all the requirements for Horror from the Deep completed, I did the Alfred Grimhand Barcrawl and nabbed a few items for later exceptions. I messed up taking the screenshots of quite a few steps as noted earlier but here’s what I did get:
Blurberry’s Bar While I was here I got the Pineapple Chunks for Eadgar’s Ruse
Flying Horse Inn No screenshot of the bar but the Barcrawl step is in chat
Dragon Inn
Dead Man’s Chest No screenshot of the bar but the Barcrawl step is in chat. I picked up Swamp Tar and an Air Rune for Horror from the Deep
Karamja Spirits Bar No screenshot of the bar but the Barcrawl step is in chat
Rusty Anchor No screenshot of the bar but the Barcrawl step is in chat
Blue Moon Inn
Jolly Boar Inn on my way here I bought an Earth rune, a House, and a Saw
Rising Sun
Forester’s Arms (No Screenshot)

With the Barcrawl done I could finally complete Horror from the Deep. I prepared as many Swordfish as I could hold and went to take the two Dagannoths down. The Baby was more difficult than the Mother as I couldn’t get it to safespot, but it only took me one attempt to complete the quest.

This is the beast of an outfit I was wearing during the quest (And me fishing for food for some Dagannoth kills).

Harpoon after 3 KC on Dagannoths, what a relief. I have never been more excited to get a Harpoon drop. Why I didn’t screenshot my first shark catch is beyond me.

And the now, the culmination of all this work, The Fremennik Trials has been completed!

With the biggest door opened, I started The Fremennik Isles, bought a few pieces of armor, and completed Jungle Potion and Shilo Village for Lunar Diplomacy in order to get those out of the way.

As I was writing this got a few Smithing and Cooking levels, and a School random for level 3 Slayer.
These were my stats at the time of this post

My next goals were to prepare for and complete The Lost City, The Fremennik Isles, and Lunar Diplomacy, work on 80 cooking so I could cook Sharks, and work on 38 Herblore.
End
In the original, I go on to apologize for the length of the post and for it being blog-like and not a video, as well as thank any readers for sticking to it. I also include a TL;DR and a potential promise of weekly updates. Ultimately, neither of “issues” those really mattered. Also the TL;DR was still pretty long and I’m not going to try to condense or replicate it and instead link to it below.
As for the actual end of this blog post: As much as the first progress log was a journey in finding my footing, so too will the first few re-writes. Learning a new media sharing tool is always prone to hiccups and all that but it doesn’t hurt that I’m sticking to text and images. I wonder how images in-post will feel vs external links, for one. To any who read (or re-read, in the case of some) this, feel free to provide thoughts on the presentation, as, until I catch up to my present day progress, the presentation of these logs will be the focus and not the content.
